CO Schedule for 2007

Hi everyone,

Please note that CO practices will commence from Week 3 (15th Jan). Training days are changed to Mondays (小组) and Wednesdays (大组) from 130pm to 430pm.

Primary 1 and 2 小课 will be on Monday mornings.

The timetable and consent forms will be distributed to the students when school reopens.

Primary One Orientation Performance on 30th Dec 06 (Sat)

Hi everyone,

Please kindly note that there will be a performance on 30th Dec 06 (Sat) for the Primary One Orientation.

Venue to Report: Orchestra Room at Extension
Time to Report: 8am SHARP
Ending Time: 1130am
Things to bring: Your musical instrument, your costume, black shoes
(Students may wear their black shoes to school)

Please collect your costumes on Wednesday 27th Dec 06.

Hi everyone,

1) This is a reminder for the following Orchestra Holiday Practiceshank Dates.

2) Students who went for the Nanjing Experential Trip, please hand in your booklets to the teacher in charge during the next practice. Meetings will be conducted soon to prepare the sharing and powerpoint assignments.

Holiday Practice Schedule for December

Chinese Orchestra Presentation Ceremony

Hi everyone!

The Chinese Orchestra Presentation Ceremony will be held on 14th October 2006 (Saturday) from 0900 hrs- 1100 hrs at the Kong Hwa Extension.

We would like to invite all students as well as the parents to come join us in the event! We will be giving out the SYF trophies and the new Orchestra Room will also be revealed.

The following is the scheduled programme for the day:

*Please note that the Pri 3-5 students who are involved in the CO performace are to report in school at the old CO room (Rm 216, 217, 218) at 830am with their instruments, music scores and dressed in full school uniform with white school shoes.

CO Practices

Dear all,

The school had sent out a letter regarding the cancellation of CCA during this examination period.

Please be informed that all Chinese Orchestra Practices from this week onwards, will be cancelled due to the exams. The practices will only resume on 10th November 2006 (Friday).

The holiday practices will be updated shortly.

Please note that Orchestra Practice tomorrow (大组 and 小组) 6/10/06 is as per normal at the usual venue, from 130pm to 430pm.

However, due to end year exams, the CO practices will be suspended until 10th November 2006. We will upload the holiday schedule shortly.

Cancellation of CO Practices on 25/9, 29/9 and 2/10

Hi everyone,

Please be informed that CO Practices on 25th September (Monday), 29th September (Friday) and 2nd October (Monday) will be cancelled due to Oral Exams and Children's Day School Celebrations and Holiday respectively.

URGENT: Presentation Ceremony on 16th Sept Postponed

Dear Parents and Students,

I'm sorry to inform you that the Presentation Ceremony has to be postponed to another later date as we encountered some delays in the making of the new CO cupboard for musical instruments storage.

The aim of the Presentation Ceremony is to present the SYF Trophies as well as to hold a small opening ceremony for the new Orchestra Room in the Kong Hwa Extension. Hence, after much discussion, we decided to postpone it a later date, probably at the end of the month.

We sincerely apologise for any inconveniences caused, and we will send you another formal invitation for the event proper.

CO Practice during School Holidays

Hi all,

Please be informed that the practices will be as usual (Monday and Friday 130pm to 430pm at the Orchestra Rooms) during the one week school holidays.

Please do refer to the CO schedule for more information.

Cancellation of Practice on Friday 1st Sept

Due to the Teachers' Day school holiday, the CO practice on Friday (1st Sept) is cancelled. Please take note that both the 大组 and 小组练习 are cancelled.

Practices will resume next Monday(4th Sept) and Friday (8th Sept) from 1330hrs-1630 hrs at Kong Hwa. Do check out our schedule here for more information.

High Tea Session to be Postponed till further notice

Dear Parents and Students,

The High Tea session (formerly on 2nd Sept 2006) is postponed to another later date. The new rooms at KH extension are not ready as the safety and maintanence of the musical instruments are our main considerations.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we will post the latest CO schedule shortly.

Cancellation of 大组练习 this Friday (18th August 2006)

This is a reminder that the 大组练习 this friday (18th August 2006) has been cancelled due to the Primary 6 PSLE Oral Exams.

However, the respective 小课 will be still ongoing at their respective timing and venues.

Dear students, please complete the consent forms and hand it up to the Teacher In Charge(TIC) by Monday (21st August) if you haven't done so. :)

Macpherson CC Performance on 19th August (Saturday)

Some students will be involved in the Macpherson CC Performance on 19th August (Saturday). The details are as follows:

Gathering point: Kong Hwa School
Time to gather: 330pm
Performance venue: 845 Geylang Rd, Tanjong Katong Complex, 千喜楼 Level 4
Dismissal point: Kong Hwa School
Dismissal time: 845pm

The entire program of the day is as follows:

325pm - Gather at Kong Hwa School Canteen
330pm - Rehearsal
430pm - Getting Dressed/Make Up
500pm - Bus leave for 千喜楼
530pm - Reach Destination
545pm - Rehearsing at 千喜楼
630pm - Dinner (Dinner will be provided)
700pm - Attire/Makeup adjustments
730pm - Start of Performance (Approximately 30-45mins)
815pm - Leave for Kong Hwa School
845pm - Dismissal of students from Kong Hwa School canteen

Students are reminded to wear black shoes for the performance.
