Important Updates

Dear Parents,

Regarding Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Chinese Orchestra Central Judging Competition

Thank you very much for your continuous support towards Kong Hwa School Chinese Orchestra (KHSCO)! SYF will commence in the first week of April 2008 and here are some important updates.

1) Pre SYF Parents’ Meeting 1st March 2008 (Saturday) 8am – 930am
We sincerely hope that parents can lend us a helping hand in the preparation for SYF 2008. Your help is greatly appreciated. The aim of the meeting is to discuss the roles of the Teachers in Charge as well as the parent volunteers. We will also be standardizing the make up, hair styles, work flow etc. Please kindly let us know if you are able to help out. :) Thank you very much in advance!

2) SYF Full Dress Rehearsal at Singapore Conference Hall 7th March 2008 (Friday)
Here are the details of the SYF Full Dress Rehearsal at Singapore Conference Hall:

Date: 7th March 2008 (Friday)
Time: 4:30pm to 6pm (Use of SCH Stage)

Planned Schedule for KHSCO:

10:00am
Start of CO Practice in KHS (Students to wear school T-shirt and shorts/skirt with black shoes and bring costume)
1:00pm
Lunch
2:00pm
Students to pack instruments, change into costume, start of make-up and hair
3:00pm
Students gather at school canteen, last minute checks
Instruments to be loaded into lorry
3:15pm
Boarding bus, heading to Singapore Conference Hall
3:45pm
Arrival at Singapore Conference Hall
3:45pm – 4:25pm
Tuning of Instruments and gathering at the respective areas
4:30pm – 6:00pm
Rehearsal at Singapore Conference Hall stage
6:00pm – 6:30pm
Exit stage and gather as a group, instruments to be loaded into lorry
6:30pm
Boarding bus, heading back to Kong Hwa School
7:00pm
Arrival at Kong Hwa School
7:00pm – 7:30pm
Keeping of Instruments and Accessories
7:45pm – 8:00pm
Gather at canteen for dismissal. Home Sweet Home.
